App Store Review Monitor

Finds new App Store reviews, decides which need a reply, and drafts one with Claude. Nothing is posted until I approve it.

n8n · App Store Connect API · Claude · TypeSafe

The problem

People review my apps on the App Store, and replying matters. A thoughtful reply can turn a one-star review around, and it shows future customers that someone is listening. But checking for new reviews, deciding which ones need an answer, and writing a good one is exactly the kind of small, recurring chore that slips.

What I built

An automated workflow, built in n8n, that runs on a schedule and handles everything except the final decision:

  1. Checks App Store Connect for reviews posted since the last run.
  2. Sorts each review by category and decides whether it needs a reply.
  3. Has Claude draft a reply for the ones that do.
  4. Emails me the review and the draft. I approve it, edit it, or skip it.
  5. Posts the approved reply back to the App Store.

The result

It runs on my own apps today. My review volume is low, so I'm not going to claim hours saved. What it shows is the pattern: nothing gets missed, and my time goes to judgment instead of checking and typing.

Where this pattern fits

The same shape works for any stream of messages that needs sorting and a response: contact forms, support email, lead inquiries, or online reviews for a restaurant or a clinic. A person still approves anything that goes out in your name.
